This photo was taken a couple days ago from Huron Peak (14,003’) in Colorado’s Sawatch Range of The Rocky Mountains.
It was a splendid day for one last climb of the season: warm sunshine, puffy white clouds and almost a still calm greeted me at the summit. This is unusually perfect conditions in any season on a mountain this high!
As you can see the fall color below treeline was incredible with all the aspens showing off their autumn gold.
The peaks of several other 14ers are visibile off in the distance including Mt. Elbert (14,440’) and La Plata Peak (14,336’)
