A bronze sculpture stands as tribute to Siegfried & Roy outside the Mirage Hotel & Casino. They performed in 5750 shows until October 3, 2003 when one of the tigers in the act severely injured Roy ending one of the premier acts in Las Vegas. Sad.

I was in Las Vegas this past weekend. It was afternoon, and I was watching the news on my hotel room TV. They were interviewing Donald Trump and speculating about him making a run for the presidency in 2012. At that instant, I looked out my hotel room window and saw dark storm clouds swirling around the Trump International Hotel a short distance away.

Hmmm, was this a coincidence? Our cab driver had told us it hadn’t rained for three months in Vegas. I’ll leave you to attach your own metaphorical interpretation to this event. If you look close, you can also see a news helicopter between the Trump Hotel and that angry sky.

Fun Vegas weekend! Saw Phantom, Jersey Boys and Rita Rudner all at The Venetian. Both Phantom and Jersey Boys are 12 on a 10 scale, and Rita is a very funny lady!
