There are so many charming country churches in this region. This is Richland Lutheran Church near Walcott, North Dakota. The image seems to represent a microcosm of rural life around here.

A passing storm system moves on and the soft light of the setting sun illuminates the view from the one of the outdoor terraces at Sundog. The building in the foreground is the Fargo-Moorhead Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Considering the flood we just experienced in Fargo, the opening stanza to this old Simon & Garfunkel song seems quite prophetic.

Here is one more panorama view of the flood taken about a half hour before sunset on crest day, March 28. This view is over 90 degrees wide starting on the left looking east toward the Moorhead and the Main Avenue Bridge and progresses to a south view on the right looking toward Fargo’s Island Park Dike.

Another photo from crest day on the Red River. This photo is looking east toward downtown Moorhead during the early evening. Normally, the river runs lazily in the channel between the two sets of trees to the right.
