Sunny Hill School, District #54 (1874-1971). A now abandoned school house stands against a mostly-overcast sky on this late spring day. This is near Fergus Falls, Minnesota – one of the gateway towns to lake country.

It’s the typical weather of late spring in Minnesota. Storms rolled in from the west and somehow my car steered for the darkest clouds ahead in hopes of a twister sighting. No such luck, but thunderstorms to the east and a bright setting sun to the west created a wonderful interplay of light on this shelterbelt near Barnesville, Minnesota.
By the time I arrived at my lake home a half hour later, the same storm/sun combination created an interesting tapestry out on the water.
