I hiked up the North Ten Mile Creek Trail near Frisco, Colorado this weekend. The weather was good for a winter hike and the the stream was flowing almost up to tree line.

Fields in West Central Minnesota lie dormant under a light dusting of snow.

It’s sunny and 70º in Denver this Thanksgiving Day, but this is what it looked like after a brief snowstorm a couple of weeks ago. This is the Republic Plaza Building in downtown Denver taken from the 16th Street Mall.

The calm before the storm in downtown Denver.

A break in the clouds allowed the setting sun to illuminate the city while dark snow clouds loomed above. Despite the stormy appearance, the city received only a light dusting of the white stuff. The rest of the week looks sunny with temps in the 50s.

Lake Dillon and The Ten Mile Range from Sapphire Point — near Frisco, Colorado.

The still-open lake gives up its heat to a cold day in the mountains and will soon be covered with ice. Over 4’ (122 cm) of snow has already fallen up here this month providing a great start for all the nearby ski resorts.

Winter briefly meets with fall in the LoDo area of downtown Denver.

The storm clouds of winter are gathering and snow is moving into the Colorado Rockies today. The snow line was down to about the 9000’ level.

Late-season sunrise snowstorm over the Gore Range — from last weekend in Colorado and The Rocky Mountains. Sorry, I’ll try to stop these winter-like photos ASAP, but I do need a little cooperation from Mother Nature.
